About the DataPhysics OCA System

The DataPhysics OCA is the world's leading contact angle measuring system, trusted by thousands of research institutions and industrial laboratories worldwide. It uses optical goniometry to capture and analyze the profile of a liquid droplet placed on a solid surface, extracting the contact angle at the three-phase contact line with high precision.

Beyond static contact angle measurement, the OCA supports a comprehensive range of experimental protocols: advancing and receding angles for contact angle hysteresis, roll-off angle via tilting stage, dynamic contact angles during droplet spreading, and surface free energy calculation using the OWRK, Wu, or acid-base models from multi-liquid measurements.

The SCA20 software provides a complete measurement environment — from automated dosing and image acquisition through drop shape analysis and statistical reporting — enabling reproducible, operator-independent results for both research and quality control applications.
