Multi-angle DLS instrument for particle size, zeta potential, and molecular weight characterization of nanoparticles, polymers, proteins, and colloidal dispersions.
The BeNano combines dynamic light scattering (DLS), static light scattering (SLS), and electrophoretic light scattering (ELS) to measure particle size, zeta potential, and molecular weight of nanoparticles, biopolymers, and proteins. Multi-angle detection enhances accuracy for complex, polydisperse samples.
The BeNano from 3P Instruments is an advanced multi-angle light scattering platform that combines dynamic light scattering (DLS), static light scattering (SLS), and electrophoretic light scattering (ELS) in a single compact benchtop instrument. This combination provides comprehensive nanoparticle characterization — size, molecular weight, and surface charge — from a single sample preparation.
The three-angle detection geometry (13°, 90°, 173°) enables more accurate analysis of complex, polydisperse samples compared to single-angle instruments, as scattering contributions at different angles provide complementary information about the size distribution. The CONTIN and regularization algorithms extract high-resolution size distributions from the autocorrelation functions.
The electrophoretic light scattering module uses phase analysis light scattering (PALS) for reliable zeta potential measurement across the full conductivity range — from pure organic solvents to high ionic strength biological buffers — expanding applicability to pharmaceutical and biomedical research samples that challenge conventional ELS systems.
