The AMI-300 is a fully automated, multi-purpose chemisorption analyzer designed for the comprehensive characterization of catalysts and support materials. It combines BET surface area, active metal surface area, metal dispersion, pulse chemisorption, and temperature-programmed techniques (TPR, TPO, TPD, TPSR) in a single automated platform.
The AMI-300 from 3P Instruments is a fully automated chemisorption analyzer purpose-built for the comprehensive characterization of heterogeneous catalysts, catalyst supports, and metal oxide materials. Its multi-technique architecture integrates temperature-programmed methods (TPR, TPO, TPD, TPSR) with BET surface area measurement and pulse chemisorption into a single automated platform, eliminating the need for multiple dedicated instruments.
The instrument uses up to 8 independent mass flow controllers to blend pure and carrier gases for each experimental protocol. A programmable tube furnace heats the quartz sample tube at controlled rates from ambient to 1100°C, while a sensitive thermal conductivity detector (TCD) continuously monitors gas composition changes in real time.
The AMI-Win software provides a complete measurement environment, enabling users to define and store complex multi-step experimental sequences — from initial pre-treatment through chemisorption to TPD desorption — with full automation and unattended overnight operation capability.
